Five Ways to Relax This Weekend

Ah, the weekend. The two days per week we actually get a break. It always feels like the weekend will never come when it’s during the week and then it’s time for a break. The problem is that by that point, you are so worn out and stressed from your week at work but the last thing that you want to do is anything!

Who wants to go hiking when they can just sit down? Who wants to work out when they could go out with their friends and drink wine? Weekends are often supposed to be the time of the week that you get to get things done, but it never seems to be enough of it. Whether you decide to book a hotel and relax this weekend or you decide to go out with your friends or simply do nothing. We’ve got some suggestions for you. Here are five ways that you can relax this weekend.

  • Get stuck into a TV show. If you’re exhausted from your week of work, draw the curtains, set up a TV or blanket on the couch, and put the remote in your hand. Binge watching entire TV series is going to take up all of your time this weekend and it gives you a break from reality and a break from even having to think. It’s one of the best ways to relax because you literally are doing nothing except watching the screen in front of you.
  • Book a mini break. From the moment you stop the clock on Friday, until it begins again on Monday morning, you are off work. Booking a hotel and hopping on the train or driving to your nearest country lodge is one of the best ways that you can relax. Even if all you do is sit and watch TV in the lodge, you can just relax and be in another location than your home. There’s nothing better than packing a suitcase and heading to Paris for the weekend or hopping over on the channel tunnel to go to Disneyland.
  • Call your friends. If Work has been getting in the way of your family or friend time, maybe this is the weekend that you change that. Calling your friends and getting them to come and hang out with you for a couple of hours or even for a sleepover overnight – so what if you’re adults? – Will help you to relax, laugh and unwind. There is nothing better than socialising with people that you love the most.
  • Indulge in your hobbies. If you use knitting to relax, pick up the knitting needles and wool. If you like to watch TV or you like to go to the cinema, stop buying your tickets.
  • Destressing is great especially when you can pick up one of your hobbies and just indulge yourself. Don’t worry about making a mess – your vacuum is in need of a cleanup anyway.
  • Get into nature. A stressful week at work often means staring at four walls the whole time. Let it go and go be with the flowers!
